2/ couple of these 20' pvc hops up & see if I can repourposed them for the 39"x16' raised beds I plan to put in this new area.

Possibly, between shade cloth over the pergola & hoops w/ frost cloth covers, I can grow squash, etc. 10-11 months/yr.

My youngest laid out the first 3 sections (of 5) of the growing pergola I want here next. (The wind tears everything up here, including hoop houses.)

To make room for them I'm deconstructing the frames & hoops for 2 - 24'x12' hoophouse frames that I never put covers on.

Man, my heart goes out to you. A well thought out collection of containers & grow trays mean a lot to a grower and sometimes are irreplaceable.

"The day that will live in infamy" has mostly died of neglect.

I went to the pile my spouse & youngest made of my unused containers & found a dozen 3 gal which will probably do nicely in a pinch.
I also found a dozen or so 5 gal in my hoop house that can be repourposed.
That should bring me up to my needed count.

I have scores of 5 gal buckets, but they're too deep to use for bulbs. If just be wasting soil &/or filler material.

They appear to be extremely toxic people. Small wonder she doesn't embrace them.

I'm in SW central/NW south Texas & I know of no one even remotely close to me who uses 5 gal containers like I do. 😔
1 gal containers are big amongst the gardening folks I know around here.

I'll scrounge around for some fallow or makeshift containers in the interim...

I was prepping to start filling 5 gal containers to up pot the 4 olive trees+start planting all of the bulbs & made a horrifying discovery - I only have 14 empty containers left! I need somewhere in the neighborhood of 35.
I can order more, but it'll be close to Christmas before they get here. 😬

Additional plant holding area is complete & all the new plants are residing therein.

I still need to up pot the 4 newest olive 'trees', plus move the remaining plants on the north side of the house to here.

36° is the low forecast for Tues morning, then highs in the 70s for the next 4 days.

And all of those people receive various levels of care and gifts from you and your dad all year long.
