Congrats to Lucas and teammates on this project!

Great article about Barrie, a historic person plus a kind intellectual that brings the best out of every moment and person he interacts
Published an op-ed for @cnn.com: “Nobel laureate: I owe America my success. Today, its scientific future is in danger.”
A personal reflection on what’s at stake as science funding gets slashed. I’d be grateful if you could amplify both in and beyond the science world.

This is sad, Richard has done so much for science and spent his entire career at the NIH

Vinod's team's work could have saved my wife's life, and I hope this and others like it will make a huge difference with patients with seemingly untreatable deadly diseases. This needs to be able to continue. www.mskcc.org/news/can-mrn...
New report shows that NIH grants fueled $95 billion in economic activity and 407,782 jobs in 2024.
That's not to mention the countless lives that biomedical research has saved.
Show me a better investment than that.

Taking a cue from @cantlonlab.bsky.social, I have written an op-ed for my local newspaper about the impact of the NIH funding chaos. I'd appreciate it if you read and share. #NIH #Research #Science #Worcester

Now This Is A Leader! Not like the con artist "King Trump"!

I’m realizing that when we talk about studies on social media or in convo, we rarely mention NIH. People aren’t making the connection.
So when posting or talking about some amazing study that was funded by the NIH, be sure to refer to it as an “NIH-funded study.”
Congrats Jim and team!!!
Imagine you were the richest man in the world. You could have anything you wanted, go anywhere you wished, do whatever took you fancy. How would you spend your weekend? Depriving the poorest people in the world of food and healthcare and boasting about it?
Wooohooo 🥳, go Jess!

I do feel this Dan, and as Mark said also feel betrayed by our leadership. In discussions with some Canadian friends we seem to agree that we can’t allow a crazy leader impact our interactions and friendships, and certainly not the science that unites us.
Wow. If this is accurate, it’s reckless and potentially catastrophic
no supplies for clinical trials, animal husbandry, cell culture, liquid nitrogen for cryostorage….
Scientists in Utah, Alaska, Kentucky, Maine, Iowa, North Dakota - your voices are critical because your republican senators are the most likely to buck Trump. They need to hear your stories. 1) contact senator 2) tag local reporters (Google Bluesky reporters in your state) 3) organize colleagues…
Great opportunity, good day to post this, I am guessing you may see more applicants from the US!
detailed update on where things stand at NIH as of now
SCOOP: The Trump administration has ordered the National Institutes of Health to impose an "immediate and indefinite" ban on all travel, domestic and international. Internal emails reviewed by The Handbasket outline what employees know so far.

I just reached out to my senators about the NIH situation. If you need to find out how much impact NIH has in your state in terms of dollars in and their economic impact here's a link: www.unitedformedicalresearch.org/nih-in-your-...
Thanks Mark! Will do, my first day so…
