Dark skies reflect my sadness at the firings of all the humans that help keep the #GreatLakes as healthy as possible. Tonight I mourn the loss of the 14 @usfws.bsky.social employees that kept the invasive sea lamprey at bay. My fishery will be hurt. 😒😒🌊🌊

β€œIn one example from [OR], beavers built dams on the property of a large, multimillion-dollar stormwater treatment facility. When scientists looked more closely, they learned that the animals were able to filter out heavy metals and other pollutants about twice as well as the human-built structure.”

β€œBeaver dams can be massive structures. The largest beaver dam on record is in Wood Buffalo National Park in Canada, stretching the length of seven football fields. The dam is so big, it can be seen from space.”

I can’t agree with this more. Throwing your hands up and assuming illegality implicitly accepts the illegality β€” it makes it OK.

There is a pervasive sentiment that marches that don’t disrupt your target are β€œperformative”

That is 100% wrong

The most important thing about a protest is that it gives people hope 🧡 1/x

Elon Musk is an unelected billionaire. He should not have access to or control over trillions in Treasury payments. From Social Security, to Medicare, and even tax refunds, this is the American people’s money.

Just spitballing, but things that could happen today:
*Court injunction protecting USAID
*Dems demand hearings on Musk's role
*Someone introduce articles of impeachment
*Dem officeholders go to USAID offices with USAID workers
*Refuse to conduct any more Senate confirmations until this is resolved

You say: they shutdown USAID.

You mean: they illegally broke in to a secure facility over a weekend, hijacked sensitive data on vulnerable people and US businesses, destroyed property Americans paid for, cut off resources for sick and hungry families, and fired Americans across the country.

Hi all, We’re still here at OPM.

We have a situation where we MIGHT, and I do mean, MIGHT have four of Elon’s people blocked from the building.

Can we get press or a member of Congress down here? We’ve blocked them for two hours and they keep coming back and trying to go in.

Guys when Chris Rufo and Trump say "We're destroying DEI, we're salting the earth underneath it" and they're talking about regulations that reach back to 1965, they're not talking about corporate diversity trainings.

They are talking about civil rights

Yes. My husband is an NIH-funded scientist studying infectious diseases such as whooping cough, covid, & influenza. The current grant funding his salary runs out of money this summer; a delay in grant reviews means he won’t get a new grant funded before then. He’ll lose his job.
