They are using the term "independence" in a manner in which I am unfamiliar.

Aussies, Kiwis and the southern hemisphere also calls it ice hockey because they play (field) hockey. The northern hemisphere drops the ice because the frozen version is more popular. And in my opinion, more exciting. Trump is unfamiliar with both varieties so his post is not surprising.

I'm not sure what criteria is used to judge individuals for Nobel prizes, but given Carney's credentials, his so far successful strategies for trade between other countries and Canada, and his Davos speech, I'd say that at the very least, he deserves a nomination for the Economics Nobel this year.
