Global Plastics Talks Set to Resume Next Month Must Prioritize Environment and Health, Experts Say - Inside Climate News Plastics and their toxic chemicals endanger people, wildlife and the environment throughout their life cycle, they warn, calling for production caps in the U.N. treaty.

β€œThe world is facing a plastic pollution crisis that is getting worse every year.”
U.N. negotiators will soon hash out the terms of a global plastics treaty. Experts say they must focus on capping plastics production instead of false solutions like recycling. insideclimatenews.org/news/0907202...

Trump cuts demolish agency focused on toxic chemicals and workplace hazards The Trump administration has decimated an agency responsible for carrying out much of the research and prevention efforts to curb exposure to dangerous substances and situations in the workplace.

"If we are not evaluating emerging chemicals, if we are pretending they don't exist, we are going to see the health consequences, maybe 10 or 20 years from now," another scientist told NPR.
