He's their hero, riding angry waves
Of hatred every great white father rides.
They love him cause it's only he who saves

They're waiting for their coming chance to cheer

Tuxedo Cats
Some people say that it's selective breeding
That gives tuxedo cats their useful dress
I thought so, too, but now I am conceding
It isn't true -- they did it, more or less.
Oh sure, it's evolution right enough,
A natural protective variation
Through which they could avoid the low and rough,
And gradually achieve their coloration.
Their native habitat is the events
Where formal wear is always de rigueur,
Where each one knows the ranks of precedence,
And there's no toleration of the cur.
They blend right in among those wealthy ways,
And live on caviar and canapรฉs.

Sprawled careless, the young shoppers take a break,
Lunch cleared, laughing like drains, and drink our wine,
Till all unwanted news feeds, real or fake,
Have been tuned out, and we are feeling fine.
We work and sleep, and many have new jobs,
Our wallets note-filled. Excuses lame and bland,
Dumb with privilege, fingering the fobs
Of new-car keys, they will not understand.
Bang! BANG!. The cops have killed another one
Sitting in a car or running away
Or hands up high, surrendered, while the gun
Barks at who they please again today.
Sharp through vivid videos and clear intents,
They don't care as they go about their killing.
