People can be dangerous for literature.
People, for example, who do not read.โ€

โ€˜A steampunk Mr Taytoโ€™: why Irish critics hate Netflixโ€™s House of Guinness While US and UK reviewers have praised the series, in Ireland it has faced a barrage of withering put-downs

A cracking yarn for sure! Spoiler alert - itโ€™s not historically accurate. Youโ€™ve got history channel for that! This is pure fun with a great soundtrack. Mr Tayto he most certainly isnโ€™t!

So, Sunday Times runs with latest poll showing Farage winning if there was an election now. But makes NO mention of Reformโ€™s collusion with Russia. And this is how democracy gets beaten to death in the dark. Voters are not being told the truth. Reform is given the stage but is NEVER held to account.

Elon Musk and Prince Andrew named in new Epstein files The documents by the estate of convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein were released by Congressional Democrats.

I worked for the #NSPCC and met #PrinceAndrew at work. He leered at the chest of my buxom colleague. It now transpires he used the child safety charity as an excuse to go visit Epstein in the US. Iโ€™m sickened to my core!

Definately some of his key advisors need to go! Get back to grassroots issues, listen to constituents not pollsters, and start to bring in policies to help young people rather than it all being about retired voters!

Starmer should have conference in his hands โ€“ instead, power is slipping through his fingers | Frances Ryan Last yearโ€™s triumph has turned into a groundhog day loop of missed chances and bad calls. The PM needs to change tack โ€“ but is he capable of it? asks Guardian columnist Frances Ryan

โ€œWe are no longer at the stage of vainly hoping Starmer will be someone else. That thereโ€™s a principled leader lurking who - with enough nudges - will make the right choices. We know who he is and the question is: is that enough? And if not, what next?โ€

It's weird how Tylenol caused autism (first diagnosed in 1943) before it was even invented (1955). What a clever drug.

Trump has gone home but Britainโ€™s problems will remain. Starmerโ€™s invitation was a big mistake | Frances Ryan All the pomp and circumstance canโ€™t distract from the hate and division. The PM must summon the courage to act, says Guardian columnist Frances Ryan

โ€œTrumpโ€™s state visit to the UK is in essence realpolitik gaslighting, in which we are told a man who is threatening to take over the police force of the US capital should have been gifted the literal red carpet treatment (and the Red Arrows).โ€

The right to speak our minds and to disagree with each other - to disturb, even - is at the very heart of what it means to be a free people. It is not to be denied. Not by violence, not by the abuse of governmental power, nor by acts of corporate cowardice.
As a Guild, we stand united in opposition to anyone who uses their power and influence to silence the voices of writers, or anyone who speaks in dissent. If free speech applied only to ideas we like, we needn't have bothered to write it into the Constitution. What we have signed on to - painful as it may be at times - is the freeing agreement to disagree.
Shame on those in government who forget this founding truth. As for our employers, our words have made you rich.
Silencing us impoverishes the whole world.

The biggest problem the NHS faces is poor communication! Yesterday for 2nd time a clinic accused me of not attending when I did and now struck me off? Iโ€™ve written to Pals etc but a waste of everyoneโ€™s time. Too many sloppy errors in system. Donโ€™t get me started on misdiagnoses too!

I am so sorry to hear that Natalie -what an awful shock and tragedy. I recently had a bowel cancer scare but my mum (former nurse) urged me get my ovaries tested which I have to say my GP instantly agreed to. Thankfully all the tests normal but I made sure thank GP for listening and being thorough!
