It’s not nerdy if Olympian jocks play it
When people ask me about my hobbies
I remember the first time Marty remembered my name when he made his nightly rounds walking around the old newsroom.
It was the first time I felt like I was actually part of the club.
Become the catalyst for change
No you’re absolutely right. I just — Why didn’t anyone tell the guy nobody at The Post refers to Opinions as the second newsroom?
I still want an explanation for why we called it the third newsroom.

If I was the captain of a premier league team, I just wouldn’t kick another player in the shin. #COYS
I was laid off today, among hundreds of others at The Washington Post.
I loved covering games here, and I am so proud of our international coverage.
My colleagues — those who lost their jobs and those who didn't — are rockstars. It was such an honor to work alongside them.
If I can ever be of help to my friends at The Post, my DMs are open.
If you read one piece about The Washington Post today, read this: www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...
From Ashley Parker for The Atlantic: "The Post was also how I fell in love with journalism."
I was an avid reader of KidsPost. Back of Style, next to the comics. It's how I built a habit for reading and a love for the news. Feeling for my hometown paper today.

NEWS: The cuts were so severe that at least one department head asked to leave The Post rather than be included in the planning.
Peter Finn, The Post's international editor, requested that he be laid off once he learned about the scope of the cuts to his section.

There’s no need to find the words. Marty found them.
So many incredible journalists got laid off today. Heroes, mentors, friends. Just an absolutely devastating day. Starting a thread here with some of their incredible work, and how to follow and support them.
I’ve always admired your work. Really sorry to see this, Geoff.
A staggering statement from former Washington Post editor Marty Baron: "This ranks among the darkest days in the history of one of the world's greatest news organizations."

I left The Post in November after 10 years. So, I don’t want to speak for my friends there.
The newsroom is filled with incredible, hard-working journalists and The Post is lucky to have them.
"As of Saturday evening, the family said they had still not heard from anyone at a federal law enforcement agency about their son’s death."
