If you find a (serious) analysis flaw that affects at least 20 #TMS papers over ~20 years, mostly by the same group/PI, do you:

a) shrug πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ - 'twas ever thus

b) post 20+ PubPeer comments

c) email the PI

d) write a commentary/tutorial

e) something else πŸ‘‡

<TMS best practices>

Hi folks,

Could you please point me to the most up-to-date consensus paper you're aware of relating to TMS safety? Number of pulses / intensities / frequencies / other parameters etc.

I want to take as wide a look at the literature as possible.

Please repost for visibility!

Reminder: this Friday the second meeting of TMSMultiLab, talking about how to best use the baseline #EMG period in before a #TMS pulse.

Get in touch to be added to the Slack channel, or join us on Github (link in profile).

In our new study, we put EMG-based muscle control to the test, comparing it to traditional toe force sensor control for operating the Third Thumb (designed by @daniclode.bsky.social).

Twenty-nine folded pieces of paper of various sizes are scattered on an old, dirty, brown carpet somewhere in The Midlands of England. Each piece contains text selected and physically cut from a printed corpus of 23,000 words generated by the wonderful attendees of the even wonderfuller TMS@40 Workshop, held in Birmingham England, at the end of April, 2025. These printed snowflakes of neuroscience will be blown together into a paper reporting our 'position' on how TMS research should adapt to the age of open science. Watch this space. I don't mean the carpet, that would be weird. I mean it metaphorically. Literally speaking, you should watch this account for updates about the paper, and then read the paper please. Thank you. Fin.

New results! We tested different control conditions for rh-TMS entrainment and showed ar-TMS performs best (matching sensory without inducing oscillatory effects). Also explored how rh-TMS/ar-TMS/sham-TMS differentially impact Oscillatory and Aperiodic activity!
