If you just add whatever.scalzi.com to your feed reader it should just pick it up. "<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="Whatever &raquo; Feed" href="https://whatever.scalzi.com/feed/" />" is in the quiet headers at the top of the site. 🙂

You know it's just a change to the API to prevent abusive Extensions, right? uBlock Origin Lite works just fine for me.

They say that money can't buy happiness. But money can buy "I don't want to see commercials" on some streaming services... that's a not-small amount of happiness.

That is (delightfully) ridiculous and amazing. We are of close enough age that you must remember this as well, but I swear I was happy about $1 per megabyte for spinning rust once upon a time...

Hah! On my list now... do you listen to Geeks Guide to the Galaxy?? One of my favorite podcasts, and that panel is always delightful.

This is prime wisdom, and I may print it out to hang above my desk, from someone who finally recently pivoted from tech lead to actually managing (1.5 years ago, but it seems like yesterday) ❤️

NYE was perfectly delightful. I needed the next day of quiet to recover but it was exactly the best way I hoped to spend it. Thank you (and fam) for being there. ❤️

This. Especially this time of year. Some people I know seem to still be surprised about this fact.

"Health Insurance" or direct healthcare? I work for a non-profit teaching hospital / university (the biggest employer in the area; 30k+ people) and I have never heard anyone say that they hate us. Paying for it? Sure, people are struggling. But the care is exceptional, and people love working here.
