Random fact about me:

When I was 19, I went on a three week camping trip/wild life expedition in South Africa with some college classmates and my professor. We fell asleep to the sounds of lions roaring in the distance. Also, I hooked up with one of our tour guides and he got fired for it haha oops

Today in group therapy, I shared about some of my childhood trauma that I’ve only ever told to one person, and it made me feel so relieved. I’m so proud of myself

My cat fell into the toilet this morning (he’s fine) and I can’t stop laughing about it hahaha

My parents have been married almost 35 years, and their relationship isn’t “perfect” but they’re still each others BFFs and they laugh together constantly

I love my parents so much. They’re my best friends and it’s taken us a lot of healing to get to that point

I don’t know what’s going on but there’s been sooo much hate from people in the comments on all my social media posts recently. I’m just gonna shut up and fuck off I guess. Byeeeee

I used to think I should find a partner who is more extroverted than me because it might balance out my introvertedness. As I gain more insight through experiences and relationships, I actually think I’d be better suited with someone who is also more of an introvert.

I’ve also noticed that some people get offended when I decline to spend time with them, even though most of the time it’s not personal. I used to say yes to hanging out with people because I didn’t want to hurt their feelings. All that did was make me exhausted and resentful.

I’ve noticed that people still attribute being an introvert with being shy. I am not shy whatsoever (I used to be though). I think I come across to people on the surface as being extroverted because I’m very enthusiastic and bubbly naturally.

I used to feel embarrassed for being such a major introvert, and at one point I tried to will myself to be more extroverted. Unless I really vibe with someone and feel comfy with them, I prefer to spend 90% of my time alone.

It’s okay to be clumsy with your words, but just for future reference, a lot of people take the word “curse” very seriously. I know now that your response was meant to be light hearted, but it came off as rude and hurtful. Best of luck to you
