The Mamdani reaction is to a label, not policies. He won because he explained policy positions to the electorate. Labels are an easy way to elicit fears. He beat the easy 1-2 punch. Maybe Dems should pay attention.

New blood and opposition for sure. But absent an immediate infusion of such, currently elected officials have a public and ethical obligation to act. Today's fight is pressure. Tomorrow's is primaries.

Democrats need to reclaim the narrative. They need to quote body counts in Iraq and say, "We love our people in uniform. We don't want them engaged in a conflict that risks their lives with minimal impact and maximum risk. We're questioning the commander-in-chief. NOT people in uniform."

For real. Why are Dems allowing the far right to co-opt criticism of the strikes as "criticism" of the troops? First of all, NO ONE CALLED HIM WHIMPERING, "sir, sir..."

ENOUGH. I want EVERY Democrat talking to the media to interrupt questions and say, "To be very clear: we are NOT criticizing our brave service men and women. They performed exceptionally. We ARE criticizing the judgment of the Trump administration, their repeated public lies, and their obfuscation."

Without Congressional oversight, I feel like this is a guaranteed, unmitigated disaster. Just give it time. And it will be the ultimate unforced error.

I've yet to see anyone discuss the vulnerability inserted into anything DOGE touches as it relates to power dynamics (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm not concerned about whether or not the young men in question are capable technicians. I've no doubt they are. They are also very young and vulnerable.
