Trump Administration Closes USAID Headquarters
The move comes as the Department of Government Efficiency pushes to eliminate the foreign-aid agency. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he is the agency’s acting director.
Neither Donald Trump nor Elon Musk has the authority to dissolve USAID. Shutting it down is dangerous and must be stopped.
Not only will this deteriorate U.S. leadership globally, it makes it much more likely that future disease outbreaks will reach our shores.
