I was going to visit Slovakia on my motorcycle. No more!

Canada should implement rolling electricity blackouts to the eastern seaboard if Trump goes ahead with further tariffs. Nothing beyond the generator capacity of hospitals. Perhaps three to four hours. Then see if Trump says the US needs nothing from Canada.

Not to mention hydro electricity exports to the eastern states!

Yesterday we lost two seconds of daylight, now we’re losing 5! The end is nigh!! Well, maybe after the equinox.

I love decorating my Christmas tree. I just think of it as carrying on a pagan tradition celebrating the solstice.

No one ( or anyone shouldn’t )advise you to do that, it’s a personal choice. Some of my more driven scientist friends started at 5 am, because they had solitude before the shit show inevitably stated at 8:30. Gave them time to be productive and focused.

Family and a White Christmas in Canada. Now in Australia and I’m adapting to video calls and very warm weather. Some people put up really big Christmas lights/displays, but it just isn’t the same without snow and ice reflecting the lights! Then again I can do my morning exercises outdoors naked!

However there aren’t many opportunities up here in QLD, no CO beaches. And my wife doesn’t particularly like or support nudism. I almost bailed on the Spencer Tunick shoot but ended up going despite my wife not being supportive. I would certainly have regretted not going!!

Yes 75 is hardly old these days. I’m almost 70 and still tide my heavy motorbike off-road, occasionally sleep in two man tents and look for adventures. I’m sure I’ll be doing that at 75, maybe not 85 or 90! When I was b/n 6-10 we had swim lessons naked at the YMCA. I still love swimming naked!

As an ex-Montrealer the city has done an amazing job on the cycleways. People from all over NA now go there in the summer to vacation and cycle. The pathways along parks and the Lachine canal are spectacular. Brisbane could learn a bit!

Rainbow lorikeet in my backyard Grevillia in Brisbane. Great to watch them as I sip my coffee! I used to process raw photos with Lightroom and Photoshop, now I’m struggling with Darktable and Gimp.

People are now installing more batteries. I charge my car on solar but it would be good if V2G became possible. It’s still too expensive.

It’s also demand. I put in an 11 kW system here in Brisbane AUS, my son in Lethbridge AB also put in an 11kW system. Mine cost about $8K, his cost over $20K! Panels made in china. Take up of solar is so strong here that the power companies want to throttle output in the middle of the day.

As a very young person I remember my parents tuning in and watching the army-navy game in the early sixties. After that the major game on their calendar was the Rose Bowl. I didn’t know Black Friday had anything to do with the A-N game. Interesting and informative!

Thanks for sharing Great article. Would have been very useful when I lived in Alberta and seemed to be a pebble in a sea of climate change deniers.

Getting naked a little more often after the Spencer tunick shoot in Brisbane. Not sure I’ll have the opportunity to do anything like that again. Unfortunately I didn’t get any photos at the end to document my participation.

Bit of a generalization. I always share the armrests. However you were right to make him move. I booked an aisle seat for the trip to Brisbane and found a little old lady in it. I felt bad making her move, but I did pay in advance for the seat! She was quite pissed off.

25% of US oil is imported from Canada. 3.8 billion barrels a day, 60% of total US crude imports. Not exported. Automobiles are jointly made across the border. And the US exports lots of stuff to Canada that could be the subject of retaliatory tariffs.
