I'm calling today to ask Mastercard to cease the rampant restrictions your company is attempting to place on creators who are doing legal and legitimate business at the behest of a puritanical organization framing it as a "greater good." These actions violate free speech, on the internet and as a whole, and freedom of expression, which results in harming consumers, businesses, and ultimately your company's bottom line. I ask you to do the following: First, remove from your terms of service any mention of barring the use of your service for sale and purchase of legal products. Second, contact Steam (aka Valve), Itch.io, and any other company you have threatened or pressured for content restrictions. Third, place protections to prevent restrictions from being placed without ample time and warning for a fair and measured contest, or for businesses to seek other payment processors best fit for their needs. These wide-swath changes to doing business as a whole on the internet have real-world ramifications, along with the ability to destroy long-standing businesses and gut smaller creators who rely on these payments. I kindly ask you to cease and rescind these practices as a whole.
