Brussels is considering a 2nd car-free day, but what if air quality would be permanently better? Our research shows that if NOβ‚‚ levels were permanently reduced to those of a car-free day, up to 1/3 of childhood asthma cases could be prevented.

πŸ”₯ Draghi warned last year - and again this year - that Europe is falling behind on competitiveness. The absurd case of tiny Linkebeek blocking extra rail tracks for 20 years (#NIMBY!) is a textbook example why Europe lags. It must become easier to build and deliver infrastructure.

In the framework of my PHD a 3rd paper is published.

Link to full (open-access) paper in 1st comment.

Our study highlights spatial-seasonal air pollution patterns. Winter peaks and all-year elevated levels near traffic often exceed WHO limits. Vulnerable groups face higher NOβ‚‚ exposure.
