Nigeria must go: Nigerians in Ghana's Economy Amidst Surging Tensions and the Scourge of Misinformation Ghana-Nigeria ties: economic interdependence, historical tensions, misinformation, trade disputes, and calls for diplomacy and reform.

Deep but fragile links: Nigerians drive $683M informal trade, $1B in education, yet disputes spark tensions.

Can history repeat? 1969 expulsions, 2019 border closure.

Fixes? Formalise trade, fight #FakeNews, boost diplomacy.

In the past 27yrs, Nigeria’s healthcare budget has mostly been under 6%, and yet we hope that its healthcare problems will somehow be fixed. No amount of hope and prayers will save a country of 200+million people from the hands of 4-5% national budget for its health sector.

I do have a problem though with the description of women being (forcibly) married to Boko Haram fighters. There is no marriage of any kind, if you use those words you are buying into the narrative of the oppressor. This is rape, sexual enslavement and gender based violence. Language matters.

A terrace with chairs and a gin and tonic in the foreground, with a view of the Lagos lagoon and on the horizon the Lagos Island skyline.

It took me 13 years to discover the terrace with the best view in Lagos. Unfortunately, it is members only, or by invite from a member. Now contemplating if befriending yaught club members for G&T with a view would be too elitist a move for an anti-capitalist against privatisation of public spaces.

Once again, Geert Wilders echoes classic fascist patterns: racism, hate of Islam, and fearmongering. He scapegoats minorities, undermines solidarity, and makes violence against marginalised groups socially acceptable. It is awful.

Nigeria says it won't accept deportees from U.S.: 'We have enough problems of our own' Nigeria's government is pushing back against U.S. efforts to send the country migrants and foreign prisoners, with Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar quoting Public Enemy to drive home his point.

This Nigerian journalist has covered the Wagner Group in Africa for years. Here’s what he’s learnt β€œCovering Wagner is dangerous. You should build contacts everywhere and have a strong sense of mind,” says award-winning reporter Philip Obaji Jr.

My investigations have revealed how the Russian Wagner Group’s operations extend beyond bloodshed. They exploit Africa’s resourcesβ€”gold, diamonds, and timberβ€”to fund conflicts while propping up authoritarian regimes.
