I got my first Nintendo gaming system ever & I'm impressed with the whole experience. All my interactions so far have been easy & intuitive. I don't feel like I'm being forced to join anything.

It's gonna be a heck of a project. I wish Dr. Crawford luck and hope it's successful for him. He's gonna be a busy man, what with the videos and the classes and all the stuff.

I swear the chicken I was cutting up yesterday was for dinner and future stirfry! I did NOT speak any spells whilst disassembling!
Uh wait, I was practicing a song in Old Norse I'd been working on...did I summon something?

Crust is 1/2 butter and 1/2 lard. Dang it's good. Rolled out really well too. This time I decided to add a bit more water than I normally would. Good choice.

Leftover crust dough rolled out, butter, sugar and cinnamon, bake for 15 mins at 350.
Oh boy, oh boy, that crust in the pie is gonna be fantastic. This man handled bit of dough was so flaky and tender!

Apple pie fresh out of the oven
Pie is done. Apple pie. I brushed the top with milk, then sprinkled a little sugar, but it looks like I got a bit carried away there.

I'm not ready to go back to work tomorrow. This last week off has been so good for my brain spaces. I can already feel the stress of work creeping in. Looks like no or little sleep for me tonight, like any other normal Sunday night.

That was a lovely interaction. I did end up enjoying Emmerich as a character and I really appreciate the Navarran take on death.

I need to figure out how to whittle down the number of repeated posts I see. Someone posts a picture/link, then I get anywhere from 2-10 reposts of the same thing.
One person thinks multiple reposting the post he just posted IS A GOOD IDEA. Just. Stop.
I might just have to thin the list a bit.

I did it! I finally took the Professional Scrum Master I cert test (PSM I) today and passed with a 91.3%.
Good thing too, because I'm now both the scrum master and QA for my team.
Yay, I didn't waste the company's money!

My employer will pay for 1 cert a year, if it relates to your job, or a job they need, so they are paying for both the SM cert and the CompTIA cert (which I'll get next year).
Even though I've done most things in the A+ cert, I think the cert will look nice on the resume.
24.11.2024 20:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
I'm also taking the beginner CompTIA A+ cert. My employer has courses that are tied to these certs, so I don't have to pay for the courses.
I've worked in almost all aspects of IT for 30 years, so most of the courses have been more of a walk down memory lane than learning new things.

I have purchased the test for getting my Scrum Master certificate.
I'll take the test exam again tomorrow to refresh, then take the exam later in the day.
Tests always make me anxious, but I just took on the job as SM (as well as QA) for my team, so I'm already doing it.
I got this.

One of the old Norse word for rainbow is regn-bogi (spelling from the OND). I saw a really nice one on the way to the store. Didn't get a pic as I was driving. Rainbows are one thing I'll never get tired of seeing.

Oops, make that "get a ribeye for dinner." I would still go for the cheaper chuck steak to practice on 2/2
23.11.2024 15:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
For ribeye steaks, here's what you are looking for
- 135Β°F for medium-rare,
- 145Β°F medium,
- 150Β°F medium well
- 160Β°F for well done.
Keep in mind that meat will continue to rise a few degrees once itβs out of the pan.
Btw YOU CAN DO THIS!
I'm also just a holler away if you need help.
23.11.2024 15:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
Oh, as for cooking, there are a few ways. I use a pan heated on medium with a little vegetable oil, salt and pepper the steak and cook in the pan, flipping every couple minutes until I get the temp I am looking for. Let me get a steak temp guide.
I think you have an instant read thermometer

Also, one of the nice things about ribeye is the cut of meat has more fat marbled throughout the meat, which has the advantage of allowing the meat to be cooked to well done without turning into shoe leather. It's not gristly and you can trim away any large bits of fat after it's cooked.
23.11.2024 15:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
For "practice" steaks, Chuck steaks are usually cheap and are basically the poor man's ribeye. It's cut from the same primal as ribeyes.
I would suggest a ribeye. You can get a larger one and just split it between you two. 1/2

I finished the game. It feels like the first & last acts were written by veterans. Those parts of the story were decent.
The middle bit seems to have been written by interns. I felt like a fanfic or a weak YA novel.
I have more opinions, a lot of good & a little bad, but not enough room. π
