(1/2) What an honor to have the city of Florence dedicate a garden in honor of my father's legacy on his centennial birthday. I hope this garden will inspire people to gather, reflect, and recommit to building a world Daddy dreamed of: one of peace, unity, and moral courage.

(1/2) I’m honored to share that the Italian Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy has issued a national stamp in honor of my father. This is the first time in history that Italy has dedicated a stamp to an American.

(3/3) Daddy saw the goodness in people, even when the world felt dark. Because of his example, I grew up believing that public service was something you wanted to do. It wasn’t a burden or an obligation. It was what made life meaningful. Miss you Daddy. Happy heavenly birthday.

(2/3) One of my earliest memories of Daddy is learning how to tie my shoes. If I put my left shoe on first, he taught me to tie my right shoe first, because it was important that things always be fair.

(1/3) Happy Birthday Daddy. My father would have turned 100 today. He was a compassionate leader who had deep faith and a passion for justice. But above all, he was a loving husband and father.

(2/2) In 1968, when asked how he’d like to be remembered, Sen. Kennedy quoted Camus: β€œPerhaps we cannot prevent this world from being a world in which children are tortured. But we can reduce the number of tortured children.” He added, β€œI’d like to feel I’d done something to lessen the suffering.”

(1/2) After President Kennedy died, the Canadians named their highest unclaimed peak Mount Kennedy. As a tribute to his brother, my father became the first person to climb that peak. He did so with the first American to climb Mount Everest, Jim Whittaker.
