I think I've just read a lot of mid modern romantasy, and I do have to admit it's hard for me to follow KD sometimes with all the names/goings on, but wow I haven't felt talked down to once yet

The difference between kushiel's dart and all of the modern romantasy I've read is wild. KD isn't perfect by any means but like - the author trusts me to infer things from hints they drop? And there's an actually complex social system and cast of characters
