Yes, most professors in the humanities are liberal. That’s due to self-selection. Many students on the right are more attracted to jobs linked with money, so they go into areas like business. Some students on the left are attracted to knowledge even with lower pay, hence you find them in education.

I’m hesitant to be hopeful. But that would be amazing and wonderful…

Check out a typical university class catalogue. I’d be surprised if you see more than 1% of classes on race and gender. To be fair, those profs tend to be liberal. But most classes are on business, pre-med, programming, agriculture, etc. Most students are taking classes to prep them for jobs.

As an educator I can guarantee that I don’t have that much power to indoctrinate 20 year olds. For example, I’m an atheist. In 28 years of teaching I can’t think of one Christian student who came to me to say they became atheist because of my classes. It’s never happened out of 1000’s of students.

Clever and funny. :) But my freshman students at an R1 university don’t know basic fallacies, haven’t heard of the word ‘antisemitism’, can’t locate Ukraine on a map, don’t know much civics or history, etc. Ignorance is a problem in America that makes people susceptible to fascist propaganda.

Some of you are nice because you enjoy seeing us liberals being invaded by the military. I’m safe for now bc I live in a poor, uneducated red state, but I know it won’t be long—maybe a couple years—before the government kidnaps me for wrong think. It’s truly scary.
