Dave, that's what we'd been told, but the reality is Crockett recognized that her House seat was no longer a large enough platform for her message and so chose to try for the Senate seat. She will undoubtedly find another platform.

That's just the way it is...

Not all of them. Many are young men being lured with compellingly life-improving (but fake) opportunities.

Some do recruit. But they are totally being lied to.

As the OP alludes, what is most crucial is defeating the GOP candidate in the general. Talarico is the best choice for taking that huge challenge on. I respect Crockett's energy, but she ran a surprisingly disorganized campaign.

Sarah Longwell of The Bulwark had an insightful, and fair, piece covering her campaign, and I was genuinely surprised at just how ineptly (and arrogantly) it was run.

Yay. Yet another khomemei. So much winning.

In that case, from latest vote results, she may have just made a big mistake.

But there's always the news talk circuit. She'll still be heard (and may run again for future offices).

Thanks for clarifying, roterote. There is contradictory reporting on this. Several sources (on right and left) have been clamoring that she was "drawn out" of her district, while several others are now saying (as you state) that it wouldn't have mattered anyway since the district heavily leans Dem.

Crockett was gerrymandered out of her seat. She is a forceful voice fighting for our democracy, but Talarico has a better chance of winning in the general, and right now Winning is everything. We cannot afford to lose.

Notorious, I believe we want the same thing - change. But we can't accomplish any positive change, or negate or prevent current negative change, if we don't first Win.

I am a centrist, and I support this message.

Agreed, but no one on the left fits that bill right now. Dems need to fight, Dems need to win elections, then, once President Epstein and his enablers are neutered, we can make sure Dems keep it constitutional.

He does exceed the official guidelines (which also consider how height affects entry and exit from other vehicles), but his family probably knew that in advance so knew it was a safe way to wave the flag.

Other than possibly her boss, Gabbard remains our country's greatest national security threat.
