I asked our accountant about that first scenario and he said no way.

There used to be something about the glittering stillness of the night sky which was equal parts awe-inspiring, hopeful, peaceful and beautiful. It’s become more like a freeway interchange.

I am finding these comets to be a letdown, but the Orionids are making up for it! I was scanning for Lemmon this morning before sunrise and saw a shooting star through binoculars for the first time.

But the sheer number of satellites in every corner of the sky is kinda gross. Progress, I suppose.

I was on the 18th floor of a SF office building downtown. The desk drawers opened and closed by themselves as the building swayed. I stood in the doorway, despite it being pointless. Getting home that evening on a ferry, SF a dark silhouette against the clear sky, was quite the experience.

I have the perfect graphic for it. This image was used in the 1960’s in Sebastopol, CA. A little modification and it is good to go. All yours, Chuck.

I wear a size large, depending on the material, btw

For the record, I would 100% wear a t-shirt with “apple snack gang” on it.

Yeah, I should’ve just ignored it. That said, professor, you know zip about me.

Not so sure about this analogy. Garters and rattlesnakes are both social species that can nest in groups. Most snake species don’t behave this way, though. Several species of snakes (including king snakes, racers, king cobras, etc.) eat other snakes.

Barn owls hate tennis, and have ever since Bjorn Borg retired.

We outsource our juicing to a nearby farm that uses a belt press. Before that we used a small pneumatic basket press I rigged up from a 20-ton bench press. It’s just as efficient at extraction as the band press but much slower.

I hear barn owls screech nearly every night of the year.

I rarely see one.

I just translated that into Americanese and figure you get ~140 gal per ton with your press. That’s a solid ratio of juice to fruit.

What kind of yield do you get on the bladder press per ton (or whichever weight measurement you use) of fruit? Also, how many pounds of apples in one of those crates? Our bushels typically hold 35-40 lbs, depending on variety; yield is ~70–75 gal/bin (900-1000 lbs).

You’ll be lucky if they do! The barn owls on my property usually stay in their nesting box until the light has almost entirely faded — at the earliest. They sometimes come out slightly earlier when the owlets are starting to fledge.

Trump ordered the military to shoot protestors during the BLM protests. They refused. He’s going to make sure that this time around blood will flow in the streets. After all, you can’t be an authoritarian without shooting protestors—it’s like Chapter 1 in How To Be A Dictator In 5 Easy Steps.

Just finished watching a birdwatching documentary called LISTERS. It’s a 10/10, 5-star, two claws up experience. And free, with no commercials at the moment, on YouTube.
