I have an elderly sight impaired volunteer who loves cooking, I also have a colleague who indulges in recreational baking a few times a week. Is it wrong that I play them off against each other?

(neither has kids or husband so I'm not stealing food from their families)

The nodules on the stems are individual fruit which each contain a single seed.

These build pressure as they grow and eventually explode, firing the sticky seed up to a metre away, hopefully to land on another host. 🌏

Not today but yesterday for my 60th birthday I managed a couple of reps of this (20kg plates - 240kg all up). I was pretty pleased with that.

I've also been involved with one plant where we managed to get it moved down the priority list (rare indeed!) by getting out there and doing targeted surveys for it - it was thought to have only 500-1000 individuals, we'd have found over 10k (and learnt a lot on it's ecology while doing it) /end

I've read & reviewed a few recovery plans, most are fairly bland & uninspiring, for a RP to work it needs baseline data, funding & appropriately qualified staff to implement. I've seen $M's thrown at Grassy Box Woodland but no baseline, no monitoring & staff not educated on GBW. /1
