Aah, yes, the "veg communities are all about trees" crowd, as long as there's something obviously tree like it's all good (just see the mining industry).

& 10's of kg of seed to get maybe a hundred or so adult trees suitable for harvest (& let's not bother with the non commercial species).

Gonzo botanist here, finding a species I haven't seen around here before and/or figuring out how to germinate it.

(my "lab" is very, very large & usually has a big blue roof)

A pile of broken bricks painted black & stacked up would do the same (I have previously worked on Green and Golden Bellfrog habitat projects).

(and you can get bricks which already have holes in them, check at demolitions places)

No tertiary qualifications but allegedly worked as a banker

"... 17 years with the National Australia Bank (NAB), ... 12 years based in Warwick, Queensland, as district manager (agribusiness & commercial)... joined Suncorp in 2011 as executive manager (business & agribusiness banking) for SW Qld."

Solar still works on rainy days, not as much as sunny but it still provides power, overengineering (I produce 3x what I use) and batteries (sometime this year) will keep things going.

Coal power stations have shutdowns, fires, flooded pits which stop them too.

Went up by 30c/L on Friday, luckily I filled up in the morning & have a spare 20L in jerry cans (it'll still be a while till it goes down but I'll be shopping around when I can).

If there's a gap around your door make a doorstop with a small wedge of timber or shoe rubber, that should hold the door tight.

Swat's nothing, my greatly missed one hit my hand with open mouth, teeth bared, full pounce, it was like being hit with a hammer. I drove to work, walked to my desk, turned around and went home as my arm couldn't function.

Love renewables, have solar on the shed & plan on a battery in the next few months, would love 'leccy car but topped up with fuel at the right time & filled a couple of jerry cans (I do about 900km a week so keep an eye on the prices).

Not that great for a non reference man either (188cm, 120kg), trying to squeeze into cars, seats. Till the past couple of decades finding things like shoes (Size 13), gloves (XXL) and other items was a nightmare.
