But I still really hate editing when I have to cut out parts I like but think go on way too long. Especially balancing plot, sexiness, tension, and character angst.
I haaaate the phrase kill your darlings but I do really value and respect culling threads of plot and fluff and dialogue that don't help you convey what you need to convey.
Art is about expression and if parts of it aren't expressing what you need in the piece, you gotta be choosy sometimes.
