18.10.2025 12:46 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I love Support the Girls so much. Rebecca Hall esp.
17.10.2025 22:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Aw man. Her BIG REVEAL in The Brood is indeed iconic, a classic moment in horror film history. RIP, Samantha.
17.10.2025 17:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 013. THE UGLY STEPSISTER ('25) This Norwegian film, a darkly satiric/feminist update of the Cinderella story, is squirm-inducing and often downright disgusting (laudatory). If you liked The Substance you'll want to see this, perhaps on a double bill?

12. BLUE EYES OF THE BROKEN DOLL ('73) Fun Spanish Giallo featuring three damaged sisters living at a country estate who hire burly ex-con Paul Naschy as a handyman. But soon a string of brutal murders commences. Thought I'd pegged the killer, but I was only half-right, as usual #31HorrorFilms31Days
17.10.2025 00:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Those hunters were much scarier than any Wendigo, thatβs for sure. And Patricia Clarkson & Jason Weber are really excellent as the wife & husband. Whatever its flaws, this movie is sitting really well for me today.
16.10.2025 15:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 011. WENDIGO ('01) A family of three's weekend Catskill's trip goes awry when they encounter local creeps straight out of a Shirley Jackson story. But then the kid starts worrying about the titular creatureβwhich just might not be a myth. Arty but not farty, w/ fine acting π #31HorrorFilms31Days
16.10.2025 15:25 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 010. THE DISEMBODIED ('57) 1950s B-movie goddess Allison Hayes is the only reason to sit through this silly, stilted potboiler about a gorgeous white voodoo queen manipulating all the men around her on a tropical island. Allison is hot, movie is not.

14.10.2025 19:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How is it that *everything* that comes out of that dweeb's mouth sounds so completely inauthentic. It's fascinating to me.
14.10.2025 15:44 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 09. FREDDY VS. JASON ('03) Freddy Kruger wants to slaughter more teens and first needs to align w/ Jason Voorhees to facilitate his plans. But Jason can't/won't be controlled, so that climactic rumble commences. It's all really dumb but sorta fun, with a sympathetic final girl.

13.10.2025 14:32 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 08. THE GHOST OF SIERRA DE COBRE ('64) Martin Laudau is a successful architect who also dabbles in ghost hunting on the side. Livin' the dream! This originally-made-for-TV item is held back by pacing issues, but loaded with spooky atmosphere & sports a cast of old pros. #31HorrorFilms31Days

08.10.2025 22:19 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 07. WOLFEN ('81) Albert Finney is a NYC police investigator baffled by a series of murders seemingly committed by feral animals. But there's much more going on than that. A thoughtful, well-made movie w/ explicit criticisms of capitalism & gentrification and the havoc they create #31HorrorFilms31Days

07.10.2025 12:42 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 06. THE PLUMBER ('79) Tale of an academic couple whose bathroom is invaded by the titular worker, who proceeds to subtly menace the wife. Naturally the husband continually disbelieves her growing fears. This highly uncomfortable study in class warfare was directed by Peter Weir. #31HorrorFilms31Days
07.10.2025 11:51 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 05. THE SENTINEL ('77) Christina Raines is a model with a history of instability, a sketchy boyfriend, AND a fabulous new apartment in Brooklyn that's also the gateway to Hell (why the rent's so cheap, duh). Incredible cast in this very mid, very NYC, very 70s satanic thriller #31HorrorFilms31Days
