We trained 161 pupils (7–11) on:
🍭 Sugar & food colourants
📦 Food labels & packaging

💡 They learned to spot hidden sugars, debunk misleading packaging & understand the health effects of excessive sugar!

On 7 May 2025, the Italian Chamber of Deputies approved a world-first legislation recognising obesity as a medical condition needing proper care and support.

👏 Congratulations to Amici Obesi Onlus, a member of SAFE, for their relentless advocacy on this matter.

Sugary drinks cause our gut to absorb sugar over essential nutrients like proteins, fats, and carbs, leading to harmful metabolic changes. 🍭

Our #Food4Inclusion programme educates children in schools about sugar consumption and helps them make healthier choices. 🍎

This week the @vuamsterdam.bsky.social hosted a meeting about the first semester of TealHelix, our EU-funded project to promote more #sustainable #food choices for everyone, through behavioural change.

It was great to meet all partners.

Following the latest compromise on #NGTs reached by Member States, we call on the @europarl.europa.eu to hold on to its position of requiring mandatory labels and traceability requirements for Category 1 NGTs, too. Full disclosure shouldn't be a problem when there's nothing to hide.

We reiterate our rejection of the latest compromise proposal to regulate #NGTs in the #EU:
1️⃣Breeders and farmers must be protected against unreasonable patent claims leading to biopiracy. Biotech Directive 98/44 must be amended to protect them!
