Like to have gotten far enough that they took my blood, had me partially in the machine and stuff and she still was like “maybe!” I’m like “lady there is too much sausage to fit in this casing idk what you think is gonna happen”

like I had a full panic attack because I thought I was gonna get stuck!! we didn’t have to do all that because there was not a chance in HELL I was gonna fit!!

“yeah you would’ve been squished” honey it was squeezing my body and we weren’t at the widest part yet

as a fat person, if you’re a nurse or whatever and you see me come to get an MRI and you only have a one-size-fits-some machine at your hospital, maybe say “honey I don’t think this is gonna happen” before you make me freak out first

(I know it can be difficult to find a well maintained theater in your area- might be worth a visit anyways if you haven’t been in min. can’t maintain the theater if you don’t show).

The more as consumers we just accept the new norm, the worse this is going to get. Please keep going to the movies. keep seeing films that aren’t just massive blockbusters if you can…

I’m not saying it’s an easy thing to do, but the consolidation of studios and movie theaters into basically 3 big companies IS harmful to consumers and giving people the option to see different types of films at the cinema.

They’re also looking for spaces that do re-releases of classics, whether that’s on an IMAX/PLF or in an art house

I’d posit that the reason that this diversity of the filmgoing experience isn’t more widespread is due to lack these types of theaters outside of major markets, and also lack of distro.

Yes, money talks, and most consumers are showing up for those big IP spectacles, but people are also out here looking for original filmmaking presented in REAL film. In classic movie houses where people will be distraction free.

I started a project dedicated primarily to bringing back one type of theater to Chicago but it really opened my eyes to what people are looking for in a theatrical experience and it’s so much more diverse and interesting than these studios think it is.

(I’m in full crashout mode on the other app bc I’m more annoying over there and guys don’t have to deal with that here but just know I’m MAD)
