It is genuinely hard to pick a favorite Redford movie. Even as a kid, I remember watching Butch and Sundance for the first time and thinking “this rocks”.

I can do lines from that movies without having seen it for years. “Where you headed?” “Same as you, Jeremiah. Hell in the end.”

People still being weird about that Jeremiah Johnson gif always blows me away. Watch older movies!

People don’t even talk about it as a cult classic like Detroiters or Review. It’s completely memory-holed.

I legitimately feel like I’m the only person who watched it and it was great. Lance Reddick was in the cast! Aimee Mann cameoed!

I’m way more forgiving about this now. You gotta remember that this was by people who lived in NYC at the time. Emotions were all over the place and it’s definitely the least morally egregious thing to come out of that period.

Jack Kirby predicted ICE way back in 1971. These two pages from Forever People 3 (July 1971) really stood out to me on this latest rereading of Kirby’s Fourth World. It’s exactly what’s going on right now! Note: the people kidnapping folks and burning books are never the good guys. Kirby knew!
