Thanks so much for being kind & open! I wear mine at the store still consistently, but I've definitely become more lax at school. Best believe it's coming back after the Thanksgiving break. I'm not about this strep life I've had. I need to get a new filter & take the purifier to work as well.

Trying to determine what the move is for me individually, selfishly, knowing we only get so many sick days,& for my community at large. I feel like I can't mask forever, but I want to do right by people. I have started Thanksgiving break with a nasty case of strep, and it had me thinking about your post again. Out of curiosity (and please ignore if I'm out of line), are you still masking full time with students? 2/2 and then a third

I've been thinking about your post for a minute now, as someone who is typically healthy, but who masked longer than most in my area because my dad was immunocompromised. He passed away this summer, and I've been trying to find the new normal without him and with masking since... 1/2

As we head into Banned Books Week, may we honor the lineage of community-organized literacy resistance. May we remember that literacy efforts have always existed outside of state-sponsored/funded institutions.

Don't let their tactics limit the histories and possibilities within literacy education.
