Even though "cartoons are made for kids," I don't think you can genuinely appreciate how good or bad something is until it you get to see once you're an adult, because you can pay attention to how it looks and is written, or at least in an entirely different way than you may have as a kid.

Paramount is shifting its focus of the TMNT franchise to a younger audience... Um. And that's different from when?

I think it's a bad idea to do any established action cartoon in that style and that's a problem Roar had no chance of overcoming

Thundercats Roar's biggest problem was the fact that it was trying to chase the success of a cartoon widely regarded as hit or miss and conceptually it doesn't really work on paper. Nobody wanted a rounded down Thundercats it was a bad match

But fascists rarely care for accuracy or details, and yeah the people who were the loudest with complaining about it very frequently had their own agendas and didn't like the idea of someone queer and Jewish being susessful at anything in life let's be real

The person who coined the term "CalArts style" is a known pedophile, and it wasn't even talking about that art style it was his way of discouraging UPA throwback cartoons like Dexter's Laboratory and Powerpuff Girls, so id say that's very on the money

Bungleton Green (1953) by Chester Commodore, one of many comic strips and gag panels he created or, in the case of this strip, took over, which he did when strip creator Jay Jackson left.

An editorial comic drawn by Chester Commodore celebrating the end of school segregation by the U.S. Supreme Court. You ought to know Chester Commodore, a prolific comic strip and political cartoonist who enjoyed an impressive 50+ year career. Originally an early comic strip artist, he honed his focus on political cartooning and talked about civil rights & Black empowerment issues for decades.
