I am doing my best really its just hard. Being myself isnt my forte.

And Im sure living with you know who my whole 20s didnt help with that at all either

Which Im aware is completely illogical and flatly not true on the surface but knowing that doesnt change the feeling I get when I try to indulge myself. I just get the stinging sensation of "Im enjoying this, that must mean I am doing something wrong"

Compound that with constant bullying in school, having no like minded friends growing up and having my interests directly laughed at or straight up denied to me because theyre "stupid" or im to old for then or something, I just learned to repress it. I learned if I like it it isnt worth liking.

It isnt depression hahaha ive always been this way. Its kind of how I was raised by accident. My mother was kind of a hard ass and did things like ask me "What do you enjoy BESIDES (insert things I enjoy)" which I guess instilled the idea in me that what I actually like isnt good enough.

Does anyone else have a bad habit of downplaying how much you enoy things, refuse and hide things you like doing or making everything you do seem begrudging because you feel you dont deserve to enjoy anything?

If so genuine advice on how to stop feeling that way would be appreciated.
