This morning we honored the incredible public safety professionals who protect Montgomery County every day. Thank you to @mcpd1d.bsky.social, @mcfrspio.bsky.social, MCVFRA, and @mococh.bsky.social for celebrating the service and dedication of our first responders. 🚓🚒🚑
Congratulations to Hornet’s Nest Grille on 10 years on Main Street in Damascus! 🐝
Local businesses like this help make our community strong—grateful for everything they bring to Damascus.
Here’s to many more years ahead! 🎉
MoCo’s animal shelter is at critical capacity and urgently needs adopters and foster families. If you find a lost pet, Animal Services can provide supplies and support while locating the owner—please avoid bringing animals to the shelter if possible. 🐾

Last fall, Belmont Elementary students came to a town hall to speak with me about pedestrian safety. This morning, I joined them—alongside police and community partners—for their ride to school. Every student deserves a safe route to school, whether they walk, roll, or ride.
Grateful to celebrate Women’s History Month and our community yesterday—and to be a part of a proclamation honoring the women who uplift, lead, and serve across Montgomery County.
So grateful to join Minds in Motion and Children's Opportunity Alliance for #ReadAcrossAmerica yesterday!
Reading is foundational to early childhood education. We're working with these partners and others so that every child in District 7 has access to books, support, and quality pre-K services.

District 7’s agricultural community is a core part of who we are. This new Local Food Aggregation Grant helps small farms reach institutional buyers, expand access to fresh food, and build a more resilient food system.

Grateful to join our farmers at the Food Producer Farmer Forum at the Agricultural History Farm Park. Supporting local agriculture means investing in our farmers, protecting farmland, and strengthening a resilient local food system. I’m committed to continuing that work in MoCo.🌱🚜
Earlier this week, I was grateful to join the Muslim Community Center in Silver Spring for iftar.
Thank you for the warm welcome and for all you do to serve our community—bringing people together in reflection, compassion, and service during Ramadan. 🌙
Proud to celebrate 60 years of Montgomery Village — a planned community that has grown into a vibrant, connected home for so many families in District 7.
Thank you to the Montgomery Village Foundation for your stewardship and commitment to community. Here’s to the next 60! 🎉
Great news: the North Branch Trail project is moving forward! This investment will expand safe, accessible connections for residents across our community to walk, bike, & enjoy the outdoors. Proud to support Montgomery Parks infrastructure that improves quality of life in D7!

40 years. Hundreds of student-athletes. A lasting legacy.
Honored to present a proclamation to @MagruderAD Coach Dan Harwood recognizing his decades of leadership, mentorship, and commitment to our young people. Our community is stronger because of his passion. 🏀
When people trust their local government, our whole community is safer. The Trust Act helps ensure every Montgomery County resident—no matter their immigration status—can report crime, access services, and live with dignity. Proud to stand with our neighbors today.

Thanks again to all who testified at this week's capital budget hearings.
Including Irina Norrell, who provided this passionate testimony on Magruder HS on the same day she served out her term as President of the Greater Olney Civic Association!
State of the State address from @govwesmoore.bsky.social today in Annapolis. Putting Maryland first. Shout out Senator Nancy King!
Thank you to everyone who testified on the Capital Budget—especially residents and local leaders who spoke up for Damascus, Magruder, and Wootton High Schools while recognizing needs beyond their own communities. We must get these projects done—and need clear plans from MCPS on how.
We must do better for the safety of our kids, educators, administrators, and school communities. My statement on yesterday's shooting at Wootton High School and the work we must recommit ourselves to now:
We must stay true to the balance that is reflected in the Constitution, and even if others are failing to recognize it, it’s our job to step up and ensure fidelity to it.

Farmers should not face increased permitting requirements for conducting agricultural activities that are already exempt from these requirements. Fair standards help protect family farms, support local production, and strengthen our economy.

A federal judge in Oregon issued a sweeping rebuke of the Justice Department’s nationwide push to seize state voter rolls, ruling that the department can no longer be presumed to be acting in good faith and warning that its conduct threatens voters and states’ rights.
Intro'ed legislation to ensure our fire and rescue volunteers continue to be supported and integrated into the critical work of protecting MoCo.

Yesterday morning, I loved spending time at Northwest HS with Council VP Balcombe, listening to AP U.S. Government students present their public policy proposals during a simulated congressional hearing. Their thoughtfulness, preparation, and passion for civic engagement were truly inspiring.
