I am so looking forward to reading this book. I was glad to be at the launch during @worldfantasy2025.bsky.social and hear Stew read from it.
11.11.2025 10:16 β π 6 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0Once again, I find myself enthusing about how much I enjoyed @worldfantasy2025.bsky.social ...

On the weird fiction panel at @worldfantasy2025.bsky.social I talked about how weird fiction can sometimes be like holding a joke until it enters that uncomfortable, unheimlich space. I Say (I Say, I Say) by Robert Shearman (in @datlow.bsky.social Best Horror 12) is a beautiful example of that.
13.11.2025 15:31 β π 14 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0I have just had a brilliant time launching a new science fiction convention in Scotland. PictCon1 in Perth, with guest of Honour Francesca Barbini @lunapress.bsky.social was a blast. Join us next year in October 2026. Link below. And do follow the new account!

New book from me! The sequel to The Executioner's Blade, another fantasy murder mystery full of monsters & intrigue.
10.11.2025 13:10 β π 25 π 13 π¬ 1 π 0I hope the airport is fine with my putting my World Fantasy Award into my carry-on because I do not want to risk losing it in checked luggage.
09.11.2025 15:31 β π 18 π 2 π¬ 1 π 1I saw/heard the author of this forthcoming book @joanneanderton.bsky.social talking about it on a panel at World Fantasy Con and it sounded ace. Iβm really bad at taking notes/remembering things from cons (must be the barβ¦) so glad to be reminded of the title here.

This time last week I was packing to leave @worldfantasy2025.bsky.social. It was a strange con for me as I was deep in bereavement, but the support of so many wonderful friends and loved ones kept me going.
Here are a few highlights, and there will be a load more on my Ida Keogh FB page.
I keep forgetting about you Bluesky...
Thank you, World Fantasy Convention 2025 @worldfantasy2025.bsky.social @hws.bsky.social. It was a great experience as a first-time art vendor.
I met lovely attendees and other vendors, learned some stuff, acquired some stuff, & am inspired to DO more STUFF!
Such an interesting panel

Thrilled to share audience photos I was sent from the @worldfantasy2025.bsky.social "Fantasy Economy" panel.
Thank you again to the panelists, and to attendees for packing the room on a Sunday when lesbians, horror, and Discworld were the competing topics!
I'm so glad people enjoyed it. β€οΈ

Many thanks to the small audience who turned up for my reading of The Coronet at @worldfantasy2025.bsky.social β I feel quite self conscious wearing my glasses but might as well plough on.
Thanks to Ann for organising and to @bingewriting.bsky.social for a memorable (if not disturbing) performance
I've almost finished setting back at home after @worldfantasy2025.bsky.social. I'm still getting up hours too early and I still have a stack of books waiting to be shelved. The fact that the shelves are already full isn't helping Β―\_(γ)_/Β―

Thirty hours door to door, from the hotel in Brighton (UK) to my house in Sydney. A beautiful day here, with Snufkin demanding I immediately take him out for a walk. WFC was fun, great to see lots of people, but thereβs no place like home.

But itβs a sign of the incredible, meaningful connections I formed with other folks in the community, conversing and laughing with friends old and new. Thank you all for a beautiful few days!
So this is 50: grateful to be back home, but also grateful to have met so many wonderful people at WFC.

Had a super chilled time at the World Fantasy Con in Brighton last weekend. Registration was simple, the events I attended ran smooth allowing plenty of breather time in-between, and the panels were excellent. Many thanks to the organisers and the guests for a great convention.
05.11.2025 18:05 β π 9 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0...just as I post I forgot one more thank you. I just wanted to say "thanks" to everyone who supported all of us who worked on The Dagon Collection. We did not win the World Fantasy Award, but it was a huge honor to be nominated in the first place. Thank you. And, congrats to ALL the winners!
