I'm still working with a local non-profit to try to move into a new home. I'm hoping to learn more about this process so I can help others do the same. It fills me with joy to see the outpouring of support to keep each other comfortable and housed during this time.

I think of it like sitting on a river bank and watching the water. Thoughts are things you might see, like good thoughts are like an otter, you appreciate it and it swims on. Bad thoughts are like trash. Instead of beating yourself up over trash in the river, you acknowledge then clean it up later.

The goal of meditation is getting the mind to a natural state of rest by giving it a job. That job is simply coming back to the object of meditation over and over again.

I've found some really good companies and products this way.

Are you overwhelmed with the long list of boycotts going on right now? What I'm doing is making a list of the things I need and what I want and for each thing I ask myself, "is there a better way to get that?" Or "Could there be a different product that serves the same purpose?".

I think my neurodivergence makes it difficult for me to rationalize the passing of time. My friends and I are soon going to be those neighbors that always have their garage doors open and will ask if you want a beer and a hot dog.

The first step to meditation is realizing that it is hard. You are supposed to notice your thoughts and watch your attention stray over and over again. This doesn't mean you are failing, it actually means you are making progress.

Tbh one of my favorite things about Buddhism is all the lists 😂

I mean, my local temple was founded by an immigrant, and every year, teachers from all over the world come to visit. So if someone is anti-immigrant, they will quickly become offended.

What matters most right now is what we do within our communities. One of my goals this year is to learn more about my local resources and how to navigate them so I can teach others how to do the same. How will you show up for your community?
