Wonderful! Hope you enjoy it and yes I was completely delighted to have David write a blurb for the paperback. Good luck with the stonecarving - looking good.

A colour photograph of pink foxgloves growing in lush green grass and ferns.

I'd like to inject this summer scene directly into my veins.

A striking silhouette of a Woodcock in flight is captured against a glowing full moon, casting an ethereal backdrop. The bird's rounded wings and long, pointed bill are distinct, creating a dramatic profile as it glides through the night. Delicate, dark pine tree branches frame the scene, evoking an almost mystical atmosphere.

Woodcock silhouette has been superimposed onto photograph of a full moon.

Tonight, the Woodcock Moon rises. ๐ŸŒ•

Folklore whispers of Woodcocks awaiting this moonlit night to cross the seas and arrive in huge numbers on our shores.

It was believed tiny Goldcrests journeyed with themโ€”riding on their backs!

Look up for the final Supermoon of the year.

A winged grotesque with floppy ears and a weary face, carved in the 1300s on the canopy of a tomb at Winchelsea, East Sussex.

World-weary since the early 1300s, this grotesque from the church at Winchelsea seems a suitable image with which to start my new account!
