Shutdown double whammy: SNAP food benefits ending and federal workers go unpaid HYATTSVILLE, Maryland — Ginette Young lined up with hundreds of furloughed federal workers ahead of a special food bank distribution on Tuesday in a suburb just outside the District of Columbia.

“And I worry that we're just going to see double, triple the numbers of people, both federal government furloughed workers, as well as those who are expecting SNAP benefits and being surprised Saturday morning when they don't have it."

Hold the line, Dems.

We are losing the SNAP messaging fight. And part of that is because Republicans are saying that there is no way to fund it during a shutdown. And all the evidence that there should be no lapse in funding, has been removed from the USDA website. Good news, the wayback machine exists.
