I like this place but there are certain individuals who are rage-baiting with language 'criminalisation' and 'genocide' to garner traction.

Even when it is a simple task like gather evidence for an report, becomes "they are going to murder you in your beds"

Stop it, both writers and repliers

I read an account in a journal where the soldiers said they saw it as pale yellow, maybe it was a visual association caused by the smell.

Smell is strong garlic/horeradish and it is vaguely yellow, as it was not pure, pure is odourless and colourless.

Makes you wonder if Gulf States will shift their allegiances away from US being the "protector" and to a closer more regional defence structure... and push Israel (nuclear armed) to an even more extreme position.

I would go back to Gore / Bush as when the world realised how broken the US system was and how Americans really couldn't get their act together. Obama did hard miles to salvage it but the surprise for me is how quickly (24 years) the entire system collapsed into tribal name calling.

EU and Indian subcontinent have an opportunity to shatter the illusion of the US being the only place innovation can be done. It is probably the best time to grab it.

#Silicon #Valley is no longer the world of innovation, it is the world of moats. #FAANG have created 5 citadels which they will do anything to defend, innovation is now done in small clusters away from SV, the growth through acquisition path has been closed.

Anthropic could move its HQ anywhere else in the world and take a principled stance against that this and find that there are greater opportunities outside of the US than inside.

The US is 15% PPP on the world economy, that means at least 70% is available to global thinking businesses

Hasn't Hannan run off to run an institute in the US?

The right of the UK is not represented by the Telegraph any more... it has become the long word version of the Daily Mail...

The only issue is that the other guy who is running was a Fidesz loyalist for 22 years and still pushes back against Ukraine's European path... my fear is it is a Putin/Drunkard switcheroo?

No it's not rich of you as the election of these fucknuts means that the descent into lunacy that the US is acheiving with speed affects the globe.

You can call out the batshit fucking insane manic loyalty that the two party system in the US that allows these cockwombles to be considered electable.

Each time only after the US government had extracted its price.

I fear that the US has now become a liability as an ally, not just for the UK but for the world as a whole.

Photo from the early 1970s of a man on horseback negotiating the Birmingham inner ring road at Holloway Head

I’m searching for the original and/or rights owner of this fabulous picture of Birmingham in the early 1970s. It popped up on my Instagram feed, but I’ve been unable to track it down.

Any leads? I’m really hoping to use it in a book.

(And would much appreciate a RT please)

In Latvia most accidents on e-bikes seem to be either hitting pedestrians or hitting objects other cars.

Mainly, they are driven at speed on pavements by people worse for wear or on the roads by couriers who weave in and out clipping signposts etc.
