Want to import toxic chemicals into Britain with scant scrutiny? Labour says: go right ahead | George Monbiot Jacob Rees-Mogg’s Tory fantasy of a post-Brexit bonfire of regulations is coming true. Our bodies and ecosystems will pay the price, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Sorry to burden you with another jaw-dropping scandal. But what the government intends to do to chemicals regulation in the UK is chilling. Its consultation was slipped out so quietly that most of us missed it. When I read it, I saw why.

'I think one day everyone will say that at this time it was they that stuck their hands to the windows of the banks, it was them that protested.

So, to those of you who are actually protesting, thank you very much, I think you are working for all of us!'

'Always remember two important words in history are these, as if. Always act as if change is possible...this is what today's climate protestors and all of us have to continue to do even when the stakes of imprisonment are high. Let us fight this unjustice until it ends.'

My friends are like mountain goats! On Sunday I thought we were going to hike to a mountain top - we, infact, did 4 peaks the highest being 886 metres. We walked for over 7 hours and I did 31,000 steps.

They were wonderful encouraging company. I can't express the thrill of this super sunny day.
