Sketchbook from a few days in NYC. Saw Stacy and Alex, almost saw an ex (she flaked; the brand is strong), and ended up parked in Washington Square Park making an inky mess instead.I used to teach at Parsons, and in another life I never left that city. Every time I’m back, it still feels like home.

I’m rooting for anyone to make any money in comics but that sounds like an unsustainable level work. My occasional Kickstarter and wee web store are huge pains in the ass. All for it as well tho. Go Team Comics.

That was the entire deliberation process. They were once smoll.

Everyone else lost their minds over Smallwood’s Human Target (fair), but that Moon Knight work? That’s the one. Peak Smallwood. Untouchable.

Anyway, this is my drawing of Moon Knight. All white, all vibes, all chaos. 🌙

Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey came in hot and left too soon, but that run is pure distilled cool. Then Greg Smallwood and Jeff Lemire did a run that apparently only I read or remember.

Then David Finch shows up, and suddenly Mr. Knight is outselling Batman. That’s no small feat for a Z-list knockoff in a white suit. Respect.

Moon Knight is the Batman you meet after your third espresso and a mild breakdown.
Low-key one of my favorite comics. It all starts with Papa Bill Sienkiewicz, who was out here transcending his Neal Adams phase and levitating onto a plane no one’s mapped since.
