Same. My old M1 still flies, especially when I edit with proxies
If you're at the airport and Kristi Noem is doing the ominous little message from the TSA screens, you no longer have to do anything she says. Leave your laptop in the case, whatever.
CNN put together a montage of the regime's incoherent talking points about Trump's war on Iran
imagine how much hair you could lose in a year if you moved to San Francisco to do journalism and then sought refuge in software for 10 years only to
“if you build it they will come” no no nope
I don’t understand devs who see the advances each month and aren’t overwhelmed

We’re supposed to believe this is a domestic terrorist attacking ICE with a gun
Preach 🙏
in the year of 2025 do we yet know if Emergen-C does anything except strip my enamel with raspberry flavor
would be interesting to talk to some old timer assembly/C devs about their transitions to ‘modern’ languages. though LLM transition seems to have taken 1/100th the time
Any insights on replies from your email list? Is learning things still a thing? Programming world feels a lot different than 5 years ago.

This will be good for tourism, our economy, and a new fun little delay at the airport
doing my biannual trip to southern california. the car traffic is always worse than I remember

Great meeting you at SF Ruby! After your talk I was initially hoping you'd open-source sidekiq, but after talking with you i've changed my mind. i'm now rooting hard for you to get as much private equity as possible so you can shovel it into Queue Commons. Please have plenty of secure bike parking!
That was a pretty good shake. Quake prediction on the other site is calling it a… foreshock? 😬
also I think we'll find a million use cases for desktop claude code support
it seems damn good so far. it feels 'quieter' or more deliberate it in what it reads and takes on. Google had a chance of taking over my CC max account for a few days, but instead they launched a model without offering CLI support - even for paying customers
Shocked that you just can’t tariff your way to growing coffee and tropical fruit in the United States.
Being an amateur and having an audience is as good as it gets. I think the move now is probably learning Resolve. Free option, no subscription and has best color tools. Also seems happy to open up any apps timeline (it’s all XML anyway) 🚲
Hell ya. It’s been nice watching zed get better and better at erb. Thank you 🫡
Great stuff. Will this instantly work in zed?
Ah. Pareto fail. What are you using?
Whoa! Sold.
@simonwillison.net you may be one of *dozens* of potential users
Behind the scenes it's a ruby library for creating Final Cut and Adobe Premiere files. And then a bunch of Claude Code skills to automate and put it all together.
