Wow that's so cool!
Interestingly they're flying, but not like Skymarchers from the Dusk Legion typically do (with the smoke and all). Probably an art direction hiccup, but maybe Ravnican vampires fly with a kind of magic that can be learned by other kinds of vampires π€
The players in the Magic the Gathering D&D campaign I DM have their birthday around this time! I've made them a bunch of art over the years, usually illustrations for custom Magic cards.
Since I've never posted any of that stuff on bsky, I'll make a thread introducing the characters!
Our Campaign has come to a close. Six years, level 5 to 20.
I made a document for each of my players with all the art and custom cards I made over the years. On the front of the document, I made one last drawing of their characters (which are these).
Check out the story in custom card form here!
Magic the Gathering card Void ({3}{B}{R} Sorcery. Choose a number. Destroy all artifacts and creatures with mana value equal to that number. Then target player reveals their hand and discards all nonland cards with mana value equal to the number), with an illustration depicting an aetherborn with golden etherium enhancements pointing a sword-like weapon skyward and summoning a black hole.
Waist up portrait in black and white line art of a hooded aetherborn, with etherium filigree replacing their chest and arms.
Custom Magic the Gathering card Qopa, Kappa Pioneer ({2}{W}{U} Legendary Planeswalker - Qopa. Loyalty: 3. If Qopa would die from one or more loyalty counters being removed from him, instead exile Qopa and return him to the battlefield with starting loyalty 1. {+1} Put a loyalty counter on Qopa for each Equipment you control. {-3} Qopa deals damage to target tapped creature equal to the number of artifacts you control. {-8} For each Equipment you control, create a token that's a copy of that Equipment. Then you may attach any number of Equipments to any number of creatures you control), with an illustration depicting a kappa from Kamigawa clad in a Darksteel suit of high tech armor flying and charging up a punch with lightning energy.
Waist up illustration of a River Herald merfolk in profile on a sand colored background. Ikorian monster Vadrok emerges from the merfolk as if summoned. In the lower right hand corner, text reads "Fijne verjaardag Yves", which is Dutch for "Happy birthday, Yves".
Last time, I replied with fanart. This time, I'll show off the art I made of the D&D campaign I ran in the Magic multiverse!

25.11.2025 14:13 β π 11 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Illustration in grayscale of a female breggle adventurer. She's dressed in a tunic and chainmail, wields a simple sword and has a shield slung over her back. On her shoulder, she wears the emblem of House Harrowmoor.
Six portraits in grayscale of a family of breggles, arranged in a loose diamond shape.
I drew her the first time after our session 0 (getting knighted at lvl 3 warranted the full piece with the horse), as well as her close family when discussing backstory with our GM. And gosh, I do love playing characters trying their best to be a force for virtue in a hard violent world.
22.11.2025 21:23 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Illustration in grayscale of a female breggle adventurer standing beside a horse. The breggle is fully armed with plate mail armor and a wave-bladed sword, as well as a shield depicting the symbol of House Harrowmoor, packed on the horse. She also carries a big bag pack. The horse is equally armored with barding and has a fancy saddle.
Syr Addle Wolder of House Harrowmoor (breggle knight): My character! Barely an adult, she idolized the knights of legend, and now she gets to emulate them. When she helped the spirit of one of her knight heroes reunite with his fey lover, he bestowed his bracers and enchanted sword onto her.
22.11.2025 21:23 β π 29 π 11 π¬ 1 π 0Illustration in grayscale of a male grimalkin adventurer with a curly whisker mustache. He greets the viewer with a big grin on his cat face as he takes off his tricorn hat. He holds a big sack and is armed with crosbow and short sword.
Nibbles Ratbane (grimalkin enchanter): Merchant from the Fey, ready to make the big adventurer bucks. As the only person in the party with an AOE spell, heβs saved our asses on two separate occasions already.
22.11.2025 21:23 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Illustration in grayscale of a male mossling adventurer. He wears a big hat that hides all but his nose and moldy beard, and holds a spellbook as he performs some minor magic. On his back, he carries a pack full of books and vials. He's accompanied by a falcon who sits on a branch growing out of his ear.
Golobd Hogscap (mossling magician): Bright eyed student of magic on a quest to learn more spells. Sadly, Golobd failed a bad save at one point, and heβs currently a worm. While heβs not dead, his player has moved on to play...
22.11.2025 21:23 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Illustration in grayscale of a striped wild boar and a male mossling adventurer. The mossling is covered in bark-like armor, and carries a bow and arrows as well as a big bag pack. In his hair, berries grow, and his beard is covered in molds and mushrooms.
Oglom Mushrump (mossling hunter): Former yeastfarmer who wanted to see the wide world. Has bonded with a wild boar called Sugarbeet. Recently upgraded to bark armor when we visited his home town.
22.11.2025 21:23 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Illustration in grayscale of a white male human adventurer decked out in armor and weapons (including a shield, sword and spear), as well as a big bag pack. His eyes emit bright light and he has goggles with dark lenses on his forehead.
Been playing in a Dolmenwood campaign for about a year now! These are our characters!
Henrick (human fighter): Mercenary soldier turned adventurer. Got hit with a curse on our first adventure, but it turns out emitting bright light from your eyes is pretty handy when you delve dungeons for a living
To me, it just reads as USAmerican. Depending on your reading background it can feel jarring - I grew up with eurocomics where they don't do it, so every balloon having some bolded words in it does feel a little over-pronounced. But it's a cultural thing, right
Anyway, totally fine in moderation.

It's all about preference. I know there are some professional artists who swear by them. And they're much more affordable, so they're good as a starter.
Personally, I need to be able to see where I'm drawing, so I would pick one with a screen any day of the week.
Only imply the shape of the teeth, don't draw individual ones.
25.10.2025 22:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My favorite one is "Hard as Anger, Bright as Joy" by @langleyhyde.bsky.social, where Lukka gets compleated. His sense of normalcy getting eroded over time by the bond with his Phyrexian beast is incredibly chilling.

Waist up portrait of a thri-kreen in green, on a light purple background. He looks at a patterned cube surrounded by stars in his primary right hand and casually holds a machete in his secondary left hand. He wears a hat and jacket that invoke Indiana Jones.
Cho'trr'ak/Ferdinand S. Fitzgerald/Fitz (thri-kreen stars druid): Cho'trr'ak was part of a party who found a star map to Spatlantis (space atlantis). However, traps were triggered and only Cho'trr'ak managed to survive. He took name and clothes off of his fallen comrades and continued their search.
25.09.2025 12:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Waist up portrait in red of an astral elf on a light green background. He wears a mask that covers most of his face, as well as armor and a cape, all emblazoned with sun imagery. On his shoulder, a futuristic but magical crossbow is mounted. In his right hand, he wields a wand that looks like a revolver.
Varcian Ruakerym (astral elf artillerist artificer): The spelljammer he served on was taken by a lunar dragon, consigning them to an icy doom in its lair. When Xan appeared, they worked together to escape along with the surviving members of the crew.
25.09.2025 12:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Waist up portrait in yellow of a githzerai with wavy hair and simple robes, against a light blue background. She wears a pendant with the half moon symbol of the elven goddess Sehanine Moonbow around her neck, and has her hands out and open in a flourish.
The current "AL" season at our LGS is Spelljammer!
Xan (githzerai aberrant mind sorcerer): Lost in the Astral Sea for centuries, fated to be adrift forever and forget herself. But Sehanine Moonbow appeared to her and sent her through a portal to Wildspace, to save Varcian from a lunar dragon.
Waist-up portrait of a cloaked figure implied to be a hobgoblin, on a dark green textured background. They wear a mask resembling the face of a spined devil and are using some shadow magic with their right hand.
Ayn, Iron Shadow
A character I made for a D&D oneshot. They're a hobgoblin assassin rogue/shadow monk, an Iron Shadow. Those are spies and assassins for the hobgoblin armies. They typically wear masks depicting devils, and Ayn's chosen devil is a Spined Devil, known for collecting information.
Portrait of a drow elf woman with piercing blue eyes, wearing dark purple aristocratic clothes, silver jewelry, and her white hair in a complicated braid, on a yellow background.
Ilivarra of House Auvryndar (drow twilight cleric): Daughter of Shyntlara Auvryndar, the matron mother of House Auvryndar in Ched Nassad. When word of Valatar (who had attracted the assassin's guild attention) reached Ched Nassad, Shyntlara dispatched Ilivarra to Waterdeep to keep her cousin safe.
17.09.2025 12:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Portrait of a drow elf man with piercing blue eyes, wearing dark platemail armor with spider motives and a blue cape, on a yellow background. His white hair covers half his face, and a scar spiders out from under it, implying his other eye may be marked.
Valatar of House Auvryndar (mark of shadow elf conquest paladin/hexblade warlock): Youngest son of Vlonwelv Auvryndar, the matron mother of House Auvryndar in Undermountain. Years later, when his soft-hearted rescuing of Twiip was discovered, he was cursed and exiled to Waterdeep.
17.09.2025 12:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Portrait of a creature with a spider's face and elf ears, wearing leather armor and a dark blue scarf covering the lower half of his face, on a yellow background. Two sets of shoulders are visible and they are bare, showing tarantula-like hairs.
Twiip (thri-kreen soulfknife rogue): The unholy progeny of two driders. He was rescued by Valatar and brought to the surface, where he grew up in Waterdeep and became part of the assassin's guild.

Undermountain Crew
The characters two of my friends and I used during the previous season of our LGS's unofficial Adventurer's League!
Portrait of a young man with a short beard, wearing a striped shirt. The figure is digitally painted in cool green tones against a bright yellow background.

They were the default land cycle for a long time on Arena too

Very cool idea though. Maybe if the inside of the cape is not red?

About how they break him to become an Inquisitor.
