i've spent like 4 hours trying to reverse how fixvx/fxtwitter does its embeds on discord and i hope it looks nice

I'VE FOUND IT YOU HAVE TO SET THE "<meta property='twitter:title' content='...'>" TAG AND IT WILL USE THIS AS THE ACTIVITYPUB EMBED TITLE

and trying to fetch the activity+json link via curl that vxtwitter produces just leads me to "this link couldn't have been fetched", despite it working in discord

i'm using the same UA and headers. wtf

thanks to help from @hakase.life i've found out that discord actually uses the link for activitystreams data. it looks ALMOST good, except for the fact that vxtwitter seemingly doesn't have the domain name part in the handle, but my own implementation does. wtf?

does anyone know how fixvx/fxembed manage to render discord oembed cards with an avatar / footer / whatnot?

i've been trying to read through the source code but i can't figure out where the magic lies

i've copied over the repos from the old volume into the new one, and re-registered myself as a contributor to the knot and all went just fine :D

it took a bit to fix up the knot since i moved up many versions and my ancient docker compose didn't work, but it's back up now
