Politically I get why this is being focused, and it should.. also though I think it worth a moment to stop and remind ourselves that shooting a minister is not any worse than the ICE-driven abuses that have happened to so many other people who aren't ministers. All people, all deserved better.

The reason why our governor and state govt has been so miserable with passing horrific laws in the past few years is precisely to encourage reasonable people to stay out. Why? Because we were on the verge of flipping Texas and if it went blue the Republicans were done in America. Too bad it worked.

I was in Houston before moving to Austin and all I can say is I'm much, MUCH happier here in Austin.
