So — the government (which government office, exactly?) is too embarrassed to let the people see these, but they weren’t too embarrassed to let these children run amok, unsupervised except by “move fast & break things” Musk for months?

Sounds like how the administration is handling Epstein files.

Makes me seriously wonder whether encouraging violence is/was intentionally part of the training texts. Yeah, that sounds like a conspiracy theory, but think about that track record… <sarcasm?>

There needs to be consensus that facial recognition algorithms can only be used as corroborating evidence. They’re far too glitchy & uncertain.

Damn, this is terrifying.

Posted to read when my WTF sensor isn’t already turned up to 11(,000).

To start, jurors claimed dressing in all black = antifa agent = terrorist.

It’s TX, so maybe they’ve already condemned most of SF & NYC, but looks like hipsters are now endangered.

“Rust Belt Gothik … [is] Afrofuturism compressed under the Great Lakes frost. It’s what happens when the utopian imagination collides with the realities of redlining, gangways, hauntings, and factories that promised freedom but delivered industrialized segregation.”

Search-and-rescue crews were “flying blind” trying to rescue survivors from deadly tornadoes that hit the Midwest last week.

Why? Because Kristi Noem hadn't approved FEMA’s $200,000 contract with a tornado-tracking tool.

But she had time to spend $220 million on anti-immigrant ads. Priorities.

If you're a service member being ordered to prep for deployment for the War in Iran and you have moral and/or ethical misgivings on all this, remember that you have the right to apply for conscientious objector status.

Exhorting - requiring! - troops to commit war crimes is grounds to impeach this asshat, stat.

Surely there are plenty other podcasters who could do this job badly enough to satisfy Demented Donnie without setting the US up for sanctions by all our trading partners.

Trump Pressure Intensifying To Bypass Filibuster Over Anti-Trans, Voter Disenfranchisement Bill Analysts say Republicans are "a few votes shy" from successfully bypassing the filibuster, but Senator Cornyn's flip combined with anti-transgender demands make this fight worth paying attention to.

This is an almost too-perfect microcosm of how both policing, and its close friend, white supremacy, work:

These big tough men are scared!
Their fear justifies your death.
Their fear is more important than your life.

⚡️ BREAKING: Zelenskyy warns a U.S. decision to ease sanctions hands Russia a $10B for its war effort.

Moscow is funneling energy profits directly into weapons like the mass-produced drones targeting Ukraine and beyond.

“Won’t significantly benefit Russia” says the most incompetent & venial Treasury Secretary ever . (Ok, he might have had competitors for that achievement, but he’s one-of, for sure.)

Why is the Treasury Secretary commenting on foreign policy anyway?

Methinks Sen. Cornyn’s abandoning his longstanding position defending the 60% votes to pass legislation, basically nuking the filibuster, is because he’s likely to lose his seat in Congress without voter suppression.

So much for any pretense of standards of government.

Armed man rammed vehicle into Michigan synagogue and was fatally shot by security, AP source says A man armed with a rifle rammed a vehicle into a major synagogue in a Detroit suburb and was fatally shot by security.

A guy rammed his car through a door at Detroit’s largest synagogue and got out with a gun and was shot by security before he could massacre everyone inside.

And yes all synagogues that can afford it have security. And yes it’s exactly because of situations like this that they do.

When Israel says their violence is done to protect all Jews and make the world safer for us, we can only look at incidents like this and see that is obviously not true. They’re making it more dangerous for us EVERYWHERE.

Ummmm…
1. The scent of freesias + jasmine enveloping us the moment we walk out the back door.
2. The first artichoke buds appearing, suddenly.
3. Musicians who had not played together previously (well, 2 hadn’t played with the third) & they TOTALLY ROCKED.

This site needs a break. Post 3 good things, none of which are the cessation of a negative.
1. A really good homemade chicken-cashew-curry salad with a bit of our blood oranges in the sauce, even better as lunch this second day.
2. Kitties (an ongoing goodness).
3. Spring freesias blooming.

The shooter’s first Open AI was closed due to warnings of a possible event like this - but her second account stayed active, & warnings from actual humans were “rebuffed”.

All true … but/and the world’s response is along the lines of “talk to us again once you’ve cleaned up your mess. Maybe you can get South Korea to give you tips.”
