Perfect example of how nothing is ever a real position. Everything is a little commentary about messaging and strategy that way you never have to take a real stand on anything meaningful.

Iran, while authoritarian, is not a strongman dictatorship. It has an elected parliament that is not a duma; it has an elected president; the clerical leader is elected by a specialized body. Decapitation is unlikely to bring it down

It’s just insane that almost the entire world put so much effort, time, and careful diplomatic work into brokering the Iran Nuclear Deal in 2015, and one asshole president just…tossed it in the trash to do this instead. That should not be possible.

What "it's a distraction" people fundamentally need to understand about fascism is that fascism's entire mode of operation is diverting popular anger/anxiety/despair into channels of violence against the Other (both internal and external).
