I'm haunted by gamers that want to run a next-gen looking game with mind-blowing graphics at 100fps with a gaming rig from 2010.

My first one was done with a $25 template from videohive, music from artlist, and fiddling with it in after effects for a week and watching tutorials on YouTube. You can find someone on upwork/fiver for $500-1000. If you do hire someone, look at their work, have examples you like ready.

A great way to indie game dev for sure. I find that it’s often a complex path to walk as motivations can evolve during the development process.

Unfortunately the image undersold the cryptographic uniqueness of each token and when the image became focus rather than any intended utility, it became a joke rather than a solution for preventing multi-issued assets, Ken Griffey Jr baseball cards in the 90’s or faked celeb signatures for example.

Lucky to have been doing programming in one form or another for the past 30 years in multiple languages. What would been really nice though is for Unity to divulge that animation events won’t reliably fire off in a blend state in a transition.

I’m hoping Noah will follow in the footsteps of Fede Álvarez (who absolutely did his homework). Some Bladerunner tie-ins would be most welcome.

The script for BD is a bit of a mess, but the SFX, cinematography & acting, especially from Scott Glenn, Sutherland, DeNiro, De Mornay, & Russel is fantastic.

If you liked the movie, check out Smoke on AppleTV+. Much better script.

I really like how framed & grounded it was. Plot pieces tied together, action to consequence. Star Wars fan nods were light & not ham handed. Forest Whitaker’s portrayal of Saw was so strong, it transformed a character into a legend. The nostalgia for this series will haunt us well into the future

I feel this… I did a != || != statement yesterday by mistake and all gunfire vanished from the game for at least a good half hour while I tried to mentally wrestle with wtf-is-going-on-isms.

I am yeah, the characters are well tied to the plot w/ depth as the game moves along, some of it through cutscenes, audio, or text as necessary. The combat is similar to Uncharted 4 & Splinter Cell, so balance will is key as to keep the player engaged, avoiding instant death as much as possible

Balancing gameplay is really hard. I find that narrative games with limited windows of death encounters is a decent model when combined with a health system.

I really miss the 80’s.

Had no idea there was a tv series!

Trek movies are often a victim of the franchise success, needing to deliver fan service without risks, often resulting in things like ST5, Generations, Insurrection, Nemesis & Darkness. I don't think we've had a "great" trek film since WoK. Abrams' 09 reboot was decent, but used comedy as a crutch.

Disney will angle grind anything down until it fits nicely onto a collectible beverage cup to make it more palatable for Disney adults in the "safe zone" of entertainment.

Not sure on this, I never imagined it as an action comedy. Certainly the '87 version had its issues and I get Stephen King fans wanted something closer to the source material, but a "21 Jump Street" vibe movie in the Running Man universe doesn't feel right either. 😬

Spooky vibes, puzzles, secret passages, a ghost or two.... maybe someday I'll repackage it and upload it to steam or epic.

True... 6 years ago I made a horror puzzle game (similar to 7th Guest) that everyone loved called Red Fern Valley. However, I wanted to make a sci-fi game, so here I am doing that. I think everyone wanted me to make Red Fern Valley: Chapter 2 though 😞
