and even a casual player outscales the content so hard that most players probably don't even know how complicated the boss battles are scripted
If you play Low Level stuff, challenge runs, randomizers, you can see the potential FF6 has, but ~ALAS~

It is crazy to me that FF5 nailed the mechanics and job system so so so well, and then Square just... never really want back to it
(arguably, Bravely Default is the heir to FF5's divergence, but not quite the same)

If you look at the battlescripts for bosses and randoms, it has wildly detailed encounter design, which is what is needed to make the job abilities feel Interesting. Bosses have status vulnerabilities, react to certain things
FF6 has this, but the math is bad so even casual players never see it

Beat DA:I for the first time - the base game ending was incredibly bad, but Trespasser was exceptional, can't imagine having played the game without it.
