June is National Gun Violence Awareness Month. SCDAO is committed to ending gun violence and supporting survivors and families impacted. We will continue to work toward building safer communities for all.
This week we welcomed our 2025 Summer interns to SCDAO! We are excited to have this talented and diverse group join us from local, out-of-state and international schools as they gain hands-on career experience within our courts and units.
Join us for our upcoming Dorchester Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, June 11th where we will hear from community members and share information and updates on key initiatives and programs. Light refreshments will be served.
The meeting is open to all and will also be live-streamed.
We hosted students from the Roxbury Latin School for RL@Work day. The students heard from RL alumni in the office and learned about SCDAO and the different career opportunities we have to offer.
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office wishes everyone a safe Memorial Day. Today, we remember and honor the courageous service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom.
SCDAO staff spent an afternoon with Casa Myrna tidying up a shelter. Casa Myrna is Boston’s largest provider of domestic violence residential programs and support services and is an essential community partner in our work with supporting survivors and awareness efforts.

DA Hayden and SCDAO staff were honored to join friends and colleagues at the MBLA’s Annual Gala to celebrate 52 years of MBLA’s contributions and dedication to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal field. Congratulations to this year’s honorees and scholarship recipients!
SCDAO attended the dedication ceremony for the redesigned family waiting room at MGH. Renovations were inspired by Quiet Rooms, a doc about the impacts of gun violence and the journeys of grief and healing. This space will help provide families with the care and compassion where they need it most.
One Boston Day recognizes the spirit of #BostonStrong and the resiliency demonstrated by the people of Boston and surrounding communities in response to the senseless attack 12 years ago. We will continue to remember and honor the victims, survivors, and all those impacted on April 15, 2013.

ADA Corin is the supervisor of one of the busiest courts in Suffolk County - where she serves as a dedicated mentor to her colleagues and a fierce advocate for justice.
This past weekend, our ADAs braved the cold for an important cause and participated in the 2025 LETR UMASS Boston Polar Plunge, raising over $1,550 for Special Olympics MA. Those funds will support Special Olympics athletes throughout the state to train and compete in the sports they love.
