This iconic Fabian Todorovic cartoon is still one of the best Iβve seen at illustrating the remarkable amount of space we surrender to cars, leaving little space left for everyone and everything else. The text added later makes the bonus point that many drivers still manage to complain about it.

Opened page of a work showing three illustrations of sharks in side profile. At the top is a 'White Shark', underneath is a 'Hammer headed Shark' and at the bottom is a 'Long tailed Shark'.
Good morning to everyone, but especially to all the sharks, for today is their special day!
To celebrate Shark Awareness Day, here are three illustrations of sharks from the book 'Animated Nature Vol. 2' (1821) by Georges-Louis Leclerc.

Caviar-producing sturgeon found in Irish waters for first time in 40 years
Fishermen off Valencia Island have astonished marine experts by catching a fish long thought extinct in Irish waters.
This verified report of two sturgeon in Irish waters is pretty incredible considering the species is critically endangered & considered functionally extinct in Ireland due to no evidence of breeding. share.google/jyn5MHKpQHjT...

Our final medal award winner is Oliver Crimmen, of the Nautral History Museum (London), who was awarded this year's Le Cren Medal. With over 50 years of experience, some species are now present in the collection but extinct in the wild, which gives much pause for thought #FSBI2025
